Continuous-Motion Bottom Seal Shrink Wrapping System

The HC37 continuous-motion horizontal shrink wrapper is ideal for completely overwrapping individual products at speeds up to 80 packages per minute.

This system is used when visually appealing packages are important for retail display. A unique seal frame enables the HC37 to make horizontal as well as vertical cross seals. A static bottom lap seal with vacuum belt minimizes seal lines to better showcase your product.

The complete overwrap ensures that freshness is kept in, while dirt and moisture are kept out. This helps extend the product's shelf life, while reducing in-store product damage.

This heavy-duty system is constructed with a welded tubular steel frame and finished with non-corrosive Steel-It paint. Standard features include: an independently driven 6 ft. flighted infeed conveyor, a user-friendly, color touchscreen operator interface, precision temperature control with a hot knife seal and cut-off, and a self-contained vacuum system.

The HC37 is available with many optional plug-'n'-play infeeds to accommodate a wider range of package sizes. The HC37 is complete with ARPAC stand-alone shrink tunnels that ensure a uniform shrink.

Mode of Operation

The customer places the product between the flights on the infeed conveyor. The lugs push products into the inverting head and film plow. The machine detects the product and starts the powered film unwind system, eliminating any tension against the product. A static seal unit is located under the film plow, holding the overlapped film together. The vacuum conveyor pulls the film and product, preventing slowing or slippage.

When product clears the seal frame the seal carriage starts moving forward and the seal bars close, sealing and cutting film around the product. After the seal is made the seal carriage opens and returns to its home position. The product does not stop at any time during the sealing process and continues onto the tunnel conveyor belt to complete the packaging cycle.
