Electric Forklifts
In 2023, Pro Pac began to transition away from propane-powered forklifts to fast-charging electric forklifts. With electric forklifts, we are reducing emissions as well as benefiting the health of drivers and other facility staff who are no longer breathing exhaust fumes.
Renewable Energy Credits
Pro Pac purchases Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) through our contracts with energy suppliers. These RECs are applied to lower our total carbon footprint as an alternative to directly installing renewable energy source onsite at our facilities.
LED Lighting
Beginning in 2018, we began replacing all incandescent, halogen and other filament-based lighting with LED lighting. As of early 2023, nearly all of our facilities are converted, amounting to approximately 80% of all square footage using LED lights.
Solar Energy
We continue to research options for installing renewable solar energy systems for all buildings we own.
