Round (Doyen) Bottom Gusset Pouches

K Style Bottom Gusset Pouches

A K-style bottom gusset pouch is great for portioned snack foods, pet treats, candies and other portioned mid-weight products.

K-style pouches are constructed with a sideways K-shaped seal at the bottom of the bag that creates the bottom gusset. The bottom gusset allows more product to be contained in the bag, especially toward the bottom.

The front and back bottom corners of the pouch are sealed at an angle with the bottom panel of the pouch, creating the bottom gusset. The bottom seals on both sides rise at a 30-degree angle, taking the pressure off the sides of the pouches to allow for additional volume and reduce the risk of puncture or tear.

This stabalizing bottom gusset design allows the pouch to stand up on a retail shelf, and allows more product to be contained in the pouch than in a flat bag. Made for mid-weight products that are not so light the pouch would tip over or so heavy the product would squash out the gusset.

Plow Bottom Gusset Pouches

Plow bottom stand-up pouches are specially designed heavier bulk food products such as, flours, grains, dried beans, rice, and seeds. The weight of the product fills out the bottom of the bag and helps the pouch stand up on retail shelves.

The plow bottom gusseted stand-up pouch features a bottom corner seal fold that is shaped like a W. These layers of film are laminated together and designed to prevent product loss. The heavier particulate products push out the bottom gusset and keep the pouch standing upright on retail shelves.
